Good Counsel College (Ref 3)

Situated on the out skirts of New Ross, The Good Counsel College is an Augustinian school and is one of only two in Ireland. The other being its sister school, St. Augustine’s college in Dungarvan, county Waterford. Good Counsel College is a school that has catered to the community of New Ross and its surrounding areas since the early 1890’s. It is one of five secondary schools in New Ross and is the only all boys campus in the area. This site hopes to provide those reading with an insight into both the present and past of Good Counsel College, New Ross. The aim of this site is to give you, the reader, information on different aspects of the schools history, development and what day to day life is like in Good Counsel College, whilst also show-casing the schools various achievements in the sports circles of Ireland. This site will also focus on the factors which make Good Counsel much more than a place of learning for both staff and students. It’s a place of faith, friendship and community. A place where young boys grow into responsible, well educated young men. A place where students gain both the social and academical skills needed for the next chapter of their lives.  Whilst providing these skills is the primary focus of the school, it also provides a great sense of community for the lads and many past pupils have been known to call into the campus from time to time for a catch up with all the staff and the schools chaplain. It is this sense of community which provides all who step foot onto the grounds of the college, weather it be student, staff or visitor with the warm welcoming feeling that makes Good Counsel College such a great center for learning and a positive experience for all.
